Is your professional tax preparer an ERO? An ERO is an Electronic Return Originator, the IRS has accepted them as electronic transmitters. Tax preparation and e-filing are separate, not all EROs will prepare returns. The IRS is beginning to push for preparers to e-file exclusively.
