Need Help Getting Your Invoices Paid?

Intuit QuickBooks has some great ideas for you to ensure that your invoices are paid in a pre-agreed timely manner, so you don’t have to hear that the check is in the mail.   The number one tip is to make sure that you have a written signed contract that spells out:

  • exact work specifications
  • established point of contact on both sides
  • upfront deposit determined
  • payment schedule
  • payment terms
  • deadlines and next steps, if payment deadlines are not met
  • contingency plans, if the project is terminated
  • clarity on additional charges if the client makes changes after the contract is signed
  • if  copywriting is involved, make sure that this is discussed and included in the contract

A detailed signed contract sets the appropriate business tone and spells out clearly the client’s expectations and your obligations.   It protects both you and your client and can ensure that you get paid in a timely manner as the payment and work schedules are clearly defined and agreed upon by both parties.
