Tweaking Your Company Culture

February 18, 2020 by OSYB Staff

Over time and with lots of work, company culture evolves and becomes a natural rhythm. Company culture is akin to character and integral to your branding, management standards, employee relationships and customer relations. What happens when you start to take note that something is adrift and you need to recalibrate the direction that it is heading. Small Business Trends shares 5 areas that affect company culture:

  • Mutual respect is key. How employees and management relate with each other is so vital to the company culture. Any sort of negativity, unproductive criticism, and miscommunication needs to be discovered, analyzed and rooted out.
  • Good managers are an asset. A solid manager not only leads a team that meets deadlines and goals but is a positive motivator.
  • Offer opportunities for growth and cross-training.
  • Make sure that management has a pulse on the day-to-day flow of the business. Staying abreast with regularity keeps you on top of any points that need to be addressed.
  • Stay connected consistently with your team. Listen, acknowledge, appreciate, share feedback, address concerns promptly, and know your employees.
