Cultivate Your Accounting Business
January 1, 2019 by OSYB Staff

A new year has dawned and Edward Mendlowitz, CPA and partner at WithumSmith+Brown, shared on Accounting Today some of the steps he has taken to grow his business. Do consider some of these steps as you venture into a brand new year that offers opportunities to cultivate new clients.
Have a well-thought out plan for yourself and share appropriate steps when you meet with new clients, it will help you start a relationship that sets a solid business tone and establishes achievable goals. Some of Edward’s suggested steps:
- Have clear set achievable goals
- Create a goal list with a timeline
- Determine what you need to do or provide to accomplish your goals
- Have a strategy to access what you need
- Design an overall plan that encompasses what you need to do, who you need to hire, a working time frame, cash projections, investment opportunities, buy-in from partners (if any), etc.
Be thoughtful, realistic and mindful in your planning. Remember to be flexible in certain areas. The most important thing is to start. 2019 offers a great starting point.
