Is Uber a Connectivity App or an Employer?

What is Uber? They claim to be a connectivity app that connects drivers with persons needing a ride. Then they collect 20% of the fare and tips paid for the ride. Drivers are claiming they are employees of Uber and should be treated as legal employees. Read about the class action suit here.
