October 18, 2018 by OSYB Staff

So perhaps, you made a mistake and your online reputation was tarnished, or you just started your business and need to build your reputation or you’ve been in business a while and have not paid attention to your online reputation.  Here are some stats that Research shows that “in the 25-34-year-old age group, 84% have left a website they previously liked because of bad user experience or advertising they found irrelevant, and 58% of business executives think they need to manage their reputation online. However, just 15% of these people actually do something about it. Furthermore, 50% of potential sales are lost because consumers can’t find information they are looking for.”

Here are some of the tips that QuickSprout has to share on how to improve or build your online reputation:

  • Ask your customers/clients to write reviews
  • Maximize your online presence by utilizing as many appropriate social media platforms to reach your customers
  • Remove as many ads as you can from your site as most people dislike ads, with pop-ups and banner ads ranking highest
  • Make space for customers to upload their photos as ” 77% of consumers say customer photos have a greater impact on their buying decisions than professional photos”
  • Respond to your customer complaints publicly, manage negative comments with decorum and respect, while working on finding a positive solution – after all the “customer is always right”
  • Use tools that can help you monitor your reputation

Try some or all of these tips and your online reputation will get a good start or improve.
