Are We Part of the Data Breach Problems?

Going Concern has an interesting take on data breach problems and asks everyday ordinary data users to re-think their own individual habits that increase the risks of data breaches.   For example:

  • How often do you change your passwords?
  • Have you even signed up for a free personality test that asks you to share personal information?

“There were over 53,000 security incidents this year, including more than 2,200 data breaches, which means our digital security, privacy and safety online, are a hot mess.”  And despite the millions of dollars spent  on security, ransom ware, phishing and cyber attacks are on the rise.  Could every data user make some data lifestyle changes and make better choices on how and who we share data with?  Could we be a part of the problem, as well as, become a part of the solution?
